Send your first email campaign in NetSendo

Send a one-time email or newsletter to a list in NetSendo 2.7.0: write it, pick lists and exclusions, test it, send it now or schedule it, read the stats.

For NetSendo 2.7.0, checked against its source code on 2026-11-08.

In short

Open Address List → Add Email Message, keep the type One-time, write the subject and content, and tick your lists on the Settings tab. Click Test to send yourself a copy, then click Send immediately, or choose Schedule for later and click Schedule sending. Progress, opens and clicks are on the message's Statistics page.

Before you start

  • A sending mailbox. Add one under Settings → Mailboxes. Without a mailbox the test send fails. See Connect Amazon SES or Mailboxes.
  • An email list with active subscribers. Lists are under Contact Lists → Email Lists. To fill one, see Import contacts.
  • The scheduler and queue services running. NetSendo does not send from the browser. The scheduler hands planned messages to the queue worker every minute. See Services, queue worker and scheduler.
  • No licence check for sending. The Check Deliverability button and the A/B Test tab on the same page are GOLD features; you do not need them here.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar, open Address List → Add Email Message. The New Message page opens on the Content tab.
  2. Under Message Type, keep One-time ("Sent at a specific time").
  3. Type the Message Subject. Optionally fill Preheader, the text shown next to the subject in the inbox.
  4. Write the email in Message Content. The editor has three modes: Editor, HTML Code and Preview. To start from a saved design, click Select template in the Template box.
  5. To personalise the email, click Insert Variable, or type [[fname]] for the first name.
  6. Add an unsubscribe link to the content, for example <a href="[[unsubscribe]]">Unsubscribe</a>. NetSendo adds a one-click List-Unsubscribe header to campaign mail, but it does not add a visible link for you.
  7. Open the Settings tab. Under Audience, tick one or more lists. A person on several of them gets the email once.
  8. Optional: under Don't send to subscribers from lists, tick the lists to leave out. People on those lists are skipped even if they are on a sending list.
  9. Check Sending mailbox. Auto-detect uses the list's mailbox, or else your global default mailbox. Pick a mailbox from the list to override it for this message.
  10. Optional: tick Campaign tags (shown only when you have tags). Messages with the same tag are grouped under Automation → Campaign Statistics.
  11. Click Test at the bottom of the page. In Send test email, type your address in Email address and click Send test. The copy arrives with [TEST] in front of the subject. Variables are filled from the subscriber with that address, or the first subscriber on the ticked lists, or sample data.
  12. Choose when to send, on the Settings tab under Sending Schedule:
    • Now: keep Send now (or save as draft) and click Send immediately.
    • Later: choose Schedule for later, set Date and time of sending, and click Schedule sending. The earliest time is 5 minutes from now.
    • Not yet: click Save as draft. Nothing is sent.

The scheduled time is read in the zone set under Timezone. If you leave Default (according to list/group/account settings), it is read in your account's timezone. Tick Send in subscriber's timezone to send at that clock time in each subscriber's own zone.

Check that it works

  • After you send, NetSendo opens Email Message List. The row's Status is Scheduled while the email goes out and Sent when every recipient has been handled. A scheduled message shows its date under the status.
  • Click the Statistics icon on the row. It is shown for Scheduled and Sent messages.
  • In Queue Progress, Planned should fall as Sent rises. Failed and Skipped count the rest.
  • The cards at the top show Sent, Open Rate, Click Rate and CTOR. Recipients List shows each address.
  • Opens and clicks are counted only while tracking is on. The Click and open tracking setting on the Content tab follows the mailbox unless you change it.

If it doesn't work

"No mailbox is configured. Set one up before sending a test."

You have no mailbox, or no default one. Add a mailbox under Settings → Mailboxes, or pick one in Sending mailbox.

"Select at least one recipient list"

No list is ticked under Audience. Open the Settings tab and tick a list.

Status stays Scheduled and Planned does not go down

The scheduler or the queue worker is not running. Follow Emails are not sending.

Also open Settings → CRON Settings. Sending pauses outside the Weekly schedule. Message limit / minute caps the speed; the default is 100.

Status is Sent but nobody got the email

The lists had no active subscribers when sending started. NetSendo marks such a message Sent with nothing to send. Unsubscribed and inactive people are counted under Skipped.

Some deliveries failed

The mailbox's provider refused them. Open Recipients List to see each error. Fix the mailbox, then click Retry in Queue Progress to queue the failed ones again.

People who joined later did not get it

Once sending starts, the recipient list is fixed. On the row in Email Message List, click Resend. It sends only to people who have not received the message yet.

Do it with an AI assistant

The NetSendo MCP server has tools for every step:

  • list_contact_lists and list_mailboxes find the IDs.
  • create_campaign creates the draft. Use channel email and type broadcast.
  • send_campaign_test sends a test to up to 5 addresses.
  • send_campaign sends now, or schedule_campaign sends later.
  • get_campaign_stats reads the results.

Example prompt:

Create a one-time email campaign to my list "Newsletter" with the subject "Our spring update" and the text I paste below, using my default mailbox. Send a test to me@example.com, wait for my OK, then schedule it for next Tuesday at 09:00 Europe/Warsaw.
