Create a signup form and add it to WordPress

Build a NetSendo subscription form, set it to Active, copy the HTML, JavaScript or iFrame embed code and paste it into a WordPress Custom HTML block.

For NetSendo 2.7.0, checked against its source code on 2026-11-08.

In short

Build the form under Address List → Forms → New Form, choose the target list, set the status to Active and save. Copy the code from Get code (HTML, JavaScript or iFrame) and paste it into a Custom HTML block in WordPress. In 2.7.0 the NetSendo for WordPress plugin cannot save signups, so use the embed code.

Before you start

  • An email list to collect signups into. Only email lists you own appear in the form's list picker. If the list should ask for confirmation, set it up first: Turn on double opt-in.
  • Some screens are partly in Polish in 2.7.0: the default field labels, the button text, the redirect option and the Appearance sub-tabs. The steps below give the Polish text with a translation.
  • This guide uses the embed code. NetSendo also offers a NetSendo for WordPress plugin (Marketplace → WordPress → Download Plugin). Its signups reach the list only with NetSendo 2.7.2 and plugin 1.1.2 or newer, and they skip the list's double opt-in. The embed code works with any WordPress theme and keeps double opt-in.
  • No licence plan is needed.

Steps

  1. In the sidebar open Address List → Forms and click New Form.
  2. Type the form's name in the Form name... field at the top.
  3. On the Fields tab, click the fields you want under Available Fields. The email field is always there and cannot be removed. The others are listed as Imię (first name), Nazwisko (last name), Telefon (phone), followed by your Custom Fields.
  4. Click each field in the preview and set its Label and Placeholder in your language (the email field starts as Adres e-mail). Tick Field required where needed.
  5. Open the Settings tab and choose the Target List.
  6. Fill in Success Message, for example Thanks! Check your inbox. The JavaScript embed shows it after signup. Left empty, visitors see a Polish default.
  7. Under Przekierowanie po zapisie (redirect after signup), either leave Redirect URL empty to use the list's pages, or enter your own thank-you page URL. The checkbox Użyj ustawień listy (use list settings) also forces the list's pages.
  8. Under Anti-spam Protection, leave Honeypot (hidden field) ticked. It is on by default.
  9. Optional: on the Appearance tab, open Przycisk (button) and change Tekst przycisku (button text, default Zapisz się).
  10. In the status selector at the top, choose Active. New forms start as Draft.
  11. Click Save.
  12. Go back to Address List → Forms and click the Get code icon in the form's row.
  13. Pick a tab and click Copy:
    • HTML: the whole form with its CSS. It is a snapshot, so copy it again after you change the form. After signup the visitor goes to your redirect page or NetSendo's thank-you page.
    • JavaScript: a <div> and a <script> that load the current form and submit it in the background. The page changes only if a redirect is set.
    • iFrame: NetSendo's hosted form page in a 400 px high frame. Raise height if your form is taller.
  14. In WordPress, edit the page or post and add a Custom HTML block (type /html in an empty paragraph).
  15. Paste the code into the block and publish or update the page.

Check that it works

  1. Open the WordPress page in a private window and sign up with an address you can read.
  2. On Address List → Forms, the form's Submissions count goes up. Its Statistics page lists the signup.
  3. Without double opt-in, the contact appears at once in Contact Lists → Subscriber List. With double opt-in it appears after the confirmation link is clicked.

If it doesn't work

The form is missing from the page, or WordPress removed the code

WordPress strips <script> and <iframe> tags for users without the unfiltered_html capability, for example Contributors. Publish from an account that has it, or use the HTML code. With the JavaScript code, paste both lines: without the <div>, the browser console shows NetSendo: Container #netsendo-form-… not found.

The iFrame shows "Formularz nie znaleziony", or signups fail

The form is not Active. A draft or disabled form shows a "form not found" page in the iFrame and rejects every submission. The Get code page warns "This form is inactive". Click Activate in the form's row.

With the HTML code, a rejected signup (for example a missing required field) only sends the visitor back to your page, without a message. The JavaScript code shows the reason in a pop-up.

Changes in the builder do not show on the site

The HTML code does not update itself: copy and paste it again. The JavaScript code may be cached for up to 5 minutes.

Visitors see Polish text

Set the field Label and Placeholder, the button text and the Success Message. Other texts are built in and not editable in 2.7.0: "Wysyłanie..." while sending, validation errors such as "Podaj prawidłowy adres e-mail", and the "Formularz nie znaleziony" page.

CAPTCHA is enabled but no CAPTCHA appears

The embed code contains no CAPTCHA widget, and NetSendo checks a CAPTCHA only when the submission carries a captcha_token field. Rely on the honeypot, or add your own widget that posts its token in a field named captcha_token.

The plugin form says "Subscription failed. Please try again."

With NetSendo 2.7.1 or older, or with plugin 1.1.1 or older, NetSendo rejects the plugin's signup request, so nothing reaches your list. Update NetSendo to 2.7.2 and the plugin to 1.1.2, or replace the plugin form with a Custom HTML block holding the NetSendo embed code from the steps above.

Do it with an AI assistant

The NetSendo MCP server has create_form, update_form, get_form (returns embed.html, embed.js, embed.iframe and the hosted URL), list_forms, duplicate_form and delete_form.

Create an active signup form "Blog footer" for list 4 with first name and email, button text "Subscribe", success message "Thanks! Check your inbox.", then give me its JavaScript embed code.
