In short

  • At 50,000 contacts the SaaS tools compared cost $249 to $720 a month. NetSendo Cloud costs $59 with Silver or $156 with Gold, sending included, because NetSendo does not charge per contact.
  • SMS, a CRM with a sales pipeline and live webinars are in every NetSendo plan, the free one too. Of the 11 other tools, SMS is in the compared plan of 2, a CRM with deals in 0 and webinars in 0.
  • Open-source tools such as listmonk and Mautic cost nothing to license. Like self-hosted NetSendo, they run on your own server with an email provider you connect.
  • Another tool can be the better choice if you never want to deal with a sending provider or DNS, or if you need something NetSendo does not have, such as WhatsApp or a general landing page builder.

NetSendo is our product. We read each competitor's prices and features on its own website, link to the page, and say where another tool is the better choice.

How we compared

  • For each tool we took the cheapest plan whose marketing automation has no cap on the number of steps and supports branching. Cheaper plans that limit automations to a few steps or one workflow are named in the price notes.
  • Prices are in US dollars a month, excluding tax and without promotions, read on each vendor's own pricing page on November 8, 2026. Where a vendor publishes only yearly-billed prices, we show the monthly equivalent and say so.
  • SaaS prices include sending. NetSendo's do not, because you connect your own provider, so we add 4 campaigns a month to the whole list through Amazon SES at $0.10 per 1,000 emails. Self-hosted tools also need a server, which is not included.
  • A feature counts as included only when it is in the compared plan, and as not offered when it appears neither in the vendor's plan comparison nor in its documentation. Each value links to the page it was read on.
  • We re-check every price and feature at least once a quarter and whenever a vendor changes its pricing.
  • Found an error? Write to contact@netsendo.com with a link to the vendor's page. We correct verified errors.

Questions

Which email marketing tool is cheapest for a large list?

Of the SaaS tools compared, at 50,000 contacts the cheapest plan with automation is Brevo at $249 a month and the most expensive is Klaviyo at $720. NetSendo Cloud Silver costs $59 including sending. Free self-hosted tools cost only the server and sending.

Why doesn't NetSendo charge per contact?

NetSendo is licensed per installation, not per contact: Silver is free and Gold costs $97 a month at any list size. You pay your email provider for sending, for example Amazon SES at about $0.10 per 1,000 emails.

Is NetSendo open source like listmonk or Mautic?

No. NetSendo's code is public on GitHub, but it is proprietary, source-available software under the NetSendo EULA. listmonk and Mautic are open source; their licences are listed in the self-hosted table above.

When is another tool the better choice?

When you want a fully managed service and never want to set up a sending provider or DNS records, or when you need a feature NetSendo does not have, such as WhatsApp messages or a general landing page builder. The tool-by-tool section lists what each one does well.

How current is this comparison?

The date at the top is the day every price and feature was read. We re-check at least once a quarter and when a vendor changes its pricing; the changelog is on the data page.
